Gand Music started in the backline instrument rental business in 1977. Over the years it has been in the background of the world-renowned music store. In 2013 Ken Stevens, Chicago’s most well-known back line guru was brought in to totally upgrade the operation.
In response to the rider requests of today’s artists, we have enacted an unprecedented inventory expansion to stock many up and coming products in addition to the stock of old standbys, bringing Gand Backline Services into the 21st century.
DJ Equipment Rentals: All the best rental gear from Pioneer, Technics and Rane.
Amp Rentals: Mesa Boogie, Mark Bass, Orange, Epafani, Agular, Peavey, Line 6, Trace, and EBS came in along side the already existing stock of Fender, Vox, Marshall, Ampeg, SWR, GK, Hartke, and Eden amps.
Keyboard Rentals: We have more keyboard synths from Nord, Korg, Roland, along with the existing backline rental stock of Rhodes, Hammond, Kurzweil, Wurlitzer and Yamaha bringing our stock up to 60 instruments.
Hammond Rentals: We added 4 vintage Hammond B3 organs to our rental stock with 122 and 147 Leslies.
Drum Rentals: were greatly expanded thru Ken’s long-term artist relation’s contacts with C&C and DW and include Gretsch, Ludwig, Mapex, Pearl, Tama, Yamaha plus percussion by Latin Percussion and Toca. We also rent DRUM RISERS.
Cymbal Rentals: Our cymbal collection is a drummer’s dream. Zildjian, Paiste, Meinl and Sabian in all sizes and models.
Snare drum rentals: We now have 60 snare drums, in birch, maple, brass and steel, from piccolo and sopranino to massive 8 x 14″ and everything in between, plus pro rolling drum riser, and Clear Sonic plexiglass drum screens.
Guitar Rentals: Dozens of guitars and basses are in stock to rent from Gibson, Fender, Martin, Taylor, Musicman, Takamine, Lakeland and Ibanez.
